Classwide Peer Tutoring

Classwide peer tutoring (Delquadri, Greenwood, Whorton, Carta, and Hall, 1986) is a system of instruction in which students supervise their classmates' responses to academic tasks (e.g., practicing math facts, spelling words, reading passages). The goal of classwide peer tutoring is increased student responding during key academic instructional sessions (e.g., reading, mathematics, spelling). Every student in a class receives ten minutes of direct practice in specific skill areas during classwide peer tutoring.
