The Center for Adolescent Literacies at UNC Charlotte

The Center for Adolescent Literacies at UNC Charlotte is an instructional center focused on developing instruction to make literacy and learning relevant and effective for adolescents and those who work with them.  The Center also will conduct and support research and service in support of its primary mission.

Professional Development Programs

Grade 3-12 Programs

ReadWriteServe Programs

  • The ReadWriteServe Student to Student tutoring programs including the America Reads and America Counts at UNC Charlotte, Literacy PALS volunteer tutoring program have placed over 540 UNC Charlotte students as tutors with 975 K-12 learners in the greater Charlotte region.

  • The Community Volunteer Tutor Training (CVTT) program works with community-based organizations to develop tutoring programs tailored to meet the needs of K-12 students in communities in the greater Charlotte region and beyond.
