During the
Fall 2008, the Center worked with students at the
International Studies School at Garinger to use digital
technologies to create a video expose about the school
titled, Garinger: Perception vs. Reality.

| We
got the idea for our exposé while studying Jacob
Riis. He was an investigative journalist also
known as a “muckraker”. His book “How the Other
Half Lives” takes a look into the lives of
immigrants who came to America. It gave people
insight into these people’s lives. After looking
at images from his book, our class decided to
make a video of our own to show the perceptions
and realities of life at Garinger High School
and the surrounding community. (From the video,
"Garinger: Perception vs. Reality." ) |
