John R. Kernodle, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by a Guilford County citizens committee in memory of John R. Kernodle, Jr., this scholarship assists future educators with their undergraduate studies. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and merit to graduating seniors of the Guilford County public high schools who are legal residents of North Carolina. Special consideration if given to students attending North Carolina colleges and universities. Scholars are required to serve for a minimum of three years following graduation in a field directly benefiting public education in North Carolina. The Kernodle Scholarship pays a maximum of $10,000 per year for four year.

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average while in college
