Perkins Loan
Provides up to $9,000 for undergraduate study and up to $18,000 for undergraduate and graduate study combined. Repayment begins nine months after graduation or leaving school and continues for up to 10 years. Loans are canceled for each year that the recipient is a full-time teacher in designated schools, in a specified Head Start program, or serves in the Peace Corps or VISTA. .
