William Tasse Alexander Scholarship Fund-Foundation for the Carolinas

Established by the will of Magery Alexander Thompson, this scholarship provides merit scholarships in the field of education. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,500 at the discretion of the William Tasse Alexander Scholarship Committee and may be used for tuition/fees and room/board only. Scholarships are awarded for one year, but renewal is possible if satisfactory performance is maintained.
 

Who is eligible?

Rising undergraduate juniors and seniors
Post-baccalaureate students
 

Eligibility Requirements
Enrolled full-time and majoring in a field of education or
taking courses leading to a career in teaching
Resident of Mecklenburg County
Minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
Applicants who are descendants of Susan Henry
& Thomas J. Watkins and Margery Cochran &
William T. Alexander must meet merit
requirements for scholarships but are not limited
as to field of study or place of residence
