Super Competition

On Monday, March 5, 2012, the UNC Charlotte Departments of Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics and Optical Science, and the Center for STEM Education are cooperatively sponsoring another exciting single day of academic competitions for high school students in Mecklenburg County and surrounding counties.

The competition schedule will permit your students to test their skills individually in mathematics (Comprehensive or Algebra II) or science or both. The schedule for the testing periods is such that students may not compete in both the chemistry and physics contests. Both mathematics contests will be held simultaneously, so students must choose between the Comprehensive and the Algebra II contests. Note: No calculators will be allowed for either math test at UNC Charlotte, as is also the case for the state-level comprehensive math contest. (Algebra state-level finals may vary by site regarding calculators.) Awards for participants will include trophies and books.
