North Carolina Waterfalls

• Stone Mountain Falls  - This waterfalls is a long drop over a big rock, carrying a nice amount of water. There is a small pool at the bottom and an overlook at the top. As I get the information, I will include the height and waterflow.
• Looking Glass Falls - This is one of the many waterfalls in the Pisgah National Forest, just outside of Brevard, NC. It is easily found on US 276 as you drive north from Brevard to the Blue Ridge Parkway. This waterfall is right beside the road and easy to access.
• Stone Mountain - This is the front of Stone Mountain, a huge face in the Northern mountains of North Carolina.  It is from the eastern side of this rock that Stone Mountain Falls drops.
• Whitewater Falls - This is on the border of North and South Carolina on the Whitewater river. It is easily accessible from your car, with about a 0.1 mile blacktop walkway. However, we did it the hard way. This was taken at the end of a 5 day backpacking trip, ending with the climb from the Whitewater River up to the top of the falls. It is a wonder that this picture is in focus and not wobbly.
• Crowder's Mountain - This is not a waterfall, but an escarpment just west of Charlotte.  It is a popular place for rock climbing and rescues.

South Carolina Waterfalls

Raven Cliff Falls: This is off US 276 between Caesars Head and Jones Gap, SC.  It is accessible by a 2.2 mile trail in the Mountain Bridge Area.  The trails are well marked.  For an extra 1.2 miles, you can reach the falls by a footbridge traversing the top of the falls.
