Application deadline is April 1 for fall enrollment.
The Master's of School Administration and the Post-master's Graduate Certificate in School Administration accept applications for the fall term only. The priority application deadline is Jan. 15 and the final deadline is Apr. 1. If you are applying to the NC Principal Fellows program, you must submit your MSA application to UNC Charlotte by Jan. 15.

in School Administration: Program Description

UNC Charlotte's Department of Educational Leadership welcomes your interest in its School Administration Add-On Licensure Program.  If you already have a Master’s degree and at least 3 years of successful teaching experience, you may be eligible to apply for the program.

The program is designed to prepare school administrators for success in urban, suburban, and rural environments.  The curriculum combines on-campus courses with field-based experiences in an 18-credit-hour program that includes a 10-month internship.  You may continue your school employment responsibilities while fulfilling internship requirements.  A university intern supervisor in cooperation with your principal-mentor will guide and support you during your internship

in SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION: Admission Requirements

To be eligible and to apply for this program, applicants must follow all admission guidelines established by UNC Charlotte’s Graduate School in addition to the following:

1.     Hold a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution

2.     Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 in all previously completed graduate degree coursework

3.     Have three years of successful teaching experience

4.     Submit MAT or GRE test scores

5.     Submit a complete resume

6.     Submit three letters of reference from current or past supervisors that document leadership and administrative experiences and potential for success as a site-based school administrator

7.      Submit a 1-2 page personal statement that addresses professional experiences, future goals, and an understanding that school administrators must possess a comprehensive conceptual, pedagogical, and reflective knowledge base
