Students are
urged to be very careful in selecting the information they put on their website.
Personal information should be removed from all ePortfolio websites and/or
attached documents.
Some examples of personal information that should
NOT
be posted on a webpage or within an attachment are:
Candidate information:
1. Social Security Number
2. Grades/Transcripts
3. Home Address
4.
Date of Birth
5.
Driver's License Number
P -12 Student Information:
Candidates are advised that federal
law prohibits publishing ANY personally identifiable information
about P-12 students. Prohibited information includes but is not
limited to:
NOTE: Information
about P-12 students and their teachers, their grade levels, test scores,
special accomodations, and other information that might be considered confidential
can be
included in
a candidate's website
only if:
1. Students
and/or teachers are identified by a number such as:
Student 1
Student 2
Teacher 1
Teacher 2
OR
2. Students
and teachers are identified by a clearly fictitious name such as
a cartoon character or superhero:
Daffy Duck
Wonder Woman
Photos of P-12 students
may be used only IF a copy of the
photograph and signed parental consent letter(s) has been placed on file
in your department office for each
student in the picture or pictures. No personally identifiable information
can be included with the photo.
