Create a blank web page
- On the File menu:
click --> New
- Click --> New Document
- In the task pane on the
right: click --> Blank Web Page
| Saving an Word document as
a web page |

- On the File menu:
click --> Save as Web Page.
- Browse to your PUBLIC_HTML
folder: is your H: drive
- In the File name
box: type --> a name for the document (ex.
lesson_plans.htm)
- Click Save

- Open both files in Word
- In the document you want
copy, from the Edit menu select All
- Click Copy button
- Switch to target Word
document
- Place cursor where you want
to insert the text.
- Click the Paste
button
| Creating a hyperlink to an
existing document |

- Open the page you want to
link from in Word
- Type and/or highlight the
text you want to become a hyperlink.
- Click the insert
Hyperlink button
- Click
Link to Existing File or Website
- Select the correct file
from your H: drive,
and click OK

- Type the URL you want to
link to and click OK

- Open Internet Explorer
- In the address bar, delete
all text
- Type webpages.uncc.edu/~ then
your user ID. Example,
http://webpages.uncc.edu/~username
- If your changes to the site
do not appear, click the Refresh button
