The Department of Middle, Secondary, and K-12 Education


The Department of Middle, Secondary, and K-12 Education
offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Grades Education; Minor in Secondary Education; teaching licensure in Middle Grades, Secondary, and K-12 (foreign language) Education through our Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Master of Arts in Teaching Programs; a Masters of Education degree in Middle Grades Education, Secondary Education, and Teaching English as a Second Language; and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.

More than ever, the teaching profession offers college graduates exciting opportunities and challenges. The undergraduate teacher education programs offered by the department provide the first crucial step in career development for aspiring teachers of grades 6-9 (middle grades), 9-12 (secondary), and K-12 (foreign languages).

The College of Education has a website about scholarships and loans for teacher education students http://education.uncc.edu/coe/finaid    There is a new application form on the site for most of the scholarships offered by the College of Education.  Please check out the site and see if you qualify for any of these scholarships!!
