The mission of Project MORE is to make its resources available and useful to teachers and students. Through its Web sites, Project MORE is offering broad public access to a wide range of information, including historical materials that may contain offensive language or negative stereotypes. Such materials must be reviewed by an adult and viewed in the context of the relevant time period and/or topic. 
 

Teachers and students will find that some of these texts use highly offensive language in discussing controversial topics, and often express deep prejudice toward certain ethnic groups. While there is obvious value in having students explore the material, teachers are advised to weigh this benefit against the potentially negative impact the material may have in their classrooms and on their students.
