Post-Masters Certificate Program for School Counseling Licensure |

Overview The
Post-Master’s Certificate in School Counseling will meet the needs of
students who have completed a master’s degree in counseling but have not met
requirements for licensure as a school counselor in the state of The
Program A program
of study will be designed based on an individual review of each applicant’s
graduate transcript(s) and selected program option. A minimum of 12
credit hours is required. The completion of this program, in addition to
passing the PRAXIS II Specialty Area Test for
School Counselors, will qualify students to become licensed school
counselors. NOTE: This program is available on line
through the Office of Distance Education. It is for students from a CACREP accredited
counseling program only. Contact

Requirements and Sequence of Courses: · CSLG 7141 The School Counselor (Required first course) · CSLG 7646 Administration and Leadership of School Counseling Services · CSLG 7435 School Based Internship [300 hrs or more dependent on applicant’s clinical experience]* ·

Services Option
A: Counselors
who graduated from a 60 credit CACREP accredited program will complete a
program of study consisting of the courses listed above. Eligible for
CAS-level Licensure. Option
B: Counselors
who graduated from a CACREP accredited program with less than 60 credits will
complete a program of study designed to be equivalent to a 60 credit school
counseling program. Eligible for CAS-level Licensure. Option
C: Counselors
who graduated from a non-accredited program will complete a program of
study equivalent to a 48 credit school counseling program. Eligible for
M-level Licensure. Application
