The purpose of this project is to increase the number of highly qualified teachers of students with severe disabilities, to improve training preparation and build knowledge of academic content, to enhance the skills of current teachers to fill identified needs in services, and to meet the needs of students with autism and English-language learners. The desired outcome of this project is to have more and better trained teachers licensed to serve students with severe disabilities in classrooms in North Carolina and states who have reciprocal licensure agreements with North Carolina.
