Master of Education (M.Ed.) Programs

 

Masters of Education (M.Ed.):  Special Education

 

The M.Ed. program is designed for professionals who already hold an initial special education teaching license. If you do not currently have a special education teaching license, see the MAT program.  This 39-hour program consists of 24 required and 15 elective hours.  For more information, link to the M.Ed. Admission Requirements

 

1.     A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

2.     A copy of a NC “A” license in Special Education or the equivalent from another state.

3.     An undergraduate GPA of 2.75 overall and 3.0 in the junior/senior years.

4.     A score at the 30th percentile or above on the GRE or MAT (Miller’s Analogies Test).

5.     A satisfactory essay providing a statement of purpose for Master’s degree study.

6.     Satisfactory recommendations from three professional educators.

The M.Ed. program for Academically or Intellectually Gifted is designed for professionals who already hold a non-special education teaching license.  For more information, link to the M.Ed.
