This project is a joint partnership between UNC Charlotte and Kannapolis City Schools.

The goal of this project will be to support participants’ mathematics teaching and leadership skills.
 

Through participating you will learn more about:

1) Leadership in mathematics- how to coach and support your peers

2) Research-based teaching practices including

Designing lessons to meet the needs of all students

Asking higher-level questions

Connections between mathematics and literacy teaching strategies

How to teach mathematics to English Language Learners

Integrating technology appropriately

3) How to assess student learning in mathematics

Help create quarterly assessments for Kannapolis City Schools

4) Teaching the new 2009 Mathematics North Carolina Standard Course of Study
 

Stipends and 15 Continuing Education Units are provided for participation in the project.
