Dr. Warren J. DiBiase
Department of Middle
Grades, Secondary and K-12 Education"The words teacher and student,
or the more ancient words master and disciple, as applied to the spiritual studies, have
no connotation whatsoever of 'have' and 'have not'. If a teacher acts as though he
or she has something a student does not, that master is revealed as having fallen from the
path or as having never been on it in the first place. An authentic teacher of
spiritual wisdom will start at the very beginning with the premise that every person is
equally part of the One. That teacher will immediately remind listening
students that they, too, are masters and teachers. All that separates the master
from the disciple is a bit of time: one has remembered and one is just beginning to
remember."
